Short. Aim for under 150 words: a clear subject line, the news in the first sentence, why it matters now, one proof point and one ask.
What makes a good media pitch subject line?
Under about 8 words, specific and newsy. Name the news and the angle, not your company slogan. Avoid ALL CAPS, exclamation marks and words like 'revolutionary'.
Should I follow up on a media pitch?
Yes, once. Send one short follow-up 3 to 5 working days later in the same thread with a new detail, then stop.
